Big News: As of March 1, 2024, Hotel Zürcherhof is part of the Fred Tschanz Group. This union brings together what could hardly be a better fit: family-run, approachable, and located in the heart of the city.
Our family business is thriving and growing! In early March, we officially welcomed the Best Western Plus Hotel Zürcherhof into the Fred Tschanz Group. "This is an exciting step that gives us the opportunity to learn and grow together," says Fred Tschanz owner Stéphanie Portmann. "The exemplary 3-star city hotel and we are a perfect match. And the timing is ideal: we are well-prepared and ready to provide a new home for this gem and its wonderful team."
The integration of Zürcherhof was preceded by a careful process to merge the two corporate cultures. Nothing will change for the successful hotel operation on Zähringerstrasse – it will continue seamlessly. All employees, including Hotel Manager Sabrina Frey, will remain: "We are a family and love our hotel. That will not change in the future. My team and I are very excited about the upcoming adventure with Fred Tschanz." Roland Wettstein, former partner and long-time patron of Zürcherhof, is also confident about the new situation: "It feels right. I am glad to place our team in the best possible hands."
We look forward to an exciting new chapter in our company's history. Speaking of history, Stéphanie says, "Perhaps some may remember my grandfather Fred Tschanz's art gallery? It was located on Zähringerstrasse, right across from the Zürcherhof! It feels like the circle is closing – there's something almost magical about it."
