swiss

Restaurant 8001 brings the Alps to the table. Cantonal specialities and traditional Swiss dishes like cheese fondue are as essential to the experience as our selected Swiss wines and large selection of Swiss spirits.

warm

True mountain-style hospitality – and that below an altitude of 1000 m: Restaurant 8001 provides its guests with a warm welcome and a friendly setting for socialising from early morning to late evening.

relaxed

Restaurant 8001 is the ideal place for relaxed social gatherings. Our varied guest space – with restaurant, lounge and bar – offers several options for staging events in a modern and comfortable ambience.

Mountain hut in the big city

Behind the name 8001 is the concept that symbolises our connection to Zurich and Switzerland. Located in Zurich’s district 1, with postal code 8001 and at an altitude of 431m, Restaurant 8001 is the lowest-lying SAC hut in Switzerland and the only one with a tram connection. We are an independent operation and, at the same time, the restaurant of next door’s Leoneck Swiss Hotel.

Just the sight of the mountain hut pictures is enough to transport you to the Swiss mountains. And our kitchen and cellar are stocked with specialities, so you can eat any time from early till late, or simply enjoy a few idle moments, as if in a hut in the Alps.

And should you be inspired to explore, simply ramble through the adjoining hotel where you will find spectacular mountain panoramas and impressive pictures of SAC huts from all over Switzerland – in the lobby, in the stairwells and along the corridors. Would you like to spend the night with us? Then you are advised to reserve one of our Alpine rooms right away – individually designed and each named after a famous SAC hut.
